Creating yourself: Whether you’re aware of it or not, you are continuously creating yourself each moment of every day. Your past thoughts and actions have brought you to today, which means that your current thoughts and actions will help unfold who you will be tomorrow. Whether you work towards creating a strong, healthy-minded, happy person, or if you will sink to the depths of despair and create someone that is angry, selfish, and unmotivated to do anything worthwhile in life; it’s your choice. What’s great about creating yourself is that it’s never too late to be who you want to be or to lead yourself in a new direction.
Crafting your dreams: Jack Canfield, co-author of the widely popular Chicken Soup for the Soul series, states, “One of the main reasons people don’t get what they want is they haven’t decided what they want.” The first step to getting what you want out of life is knowing what you want. Before you can achieve your biggest dreams in life, you have to take the time to discover them. Crafting your dream isn’t an overnight process, but rather a constant life-long journey of setting and achieving new goals for yourself. Dreaming big is the first step to achieving big.
Constructing your future: While it’s important to craft your dream in your mind, what good is vision without action? That’s simply wishful thinking. In order to turn your dreams into realities and to construct your fantasy future, you must be prepared to take action… and a lot of it! A good way of carrying out this step is by having a Plan of Action and asking yourself the following questions, What’s my goal? Why do I want to achieve this goal? When do I want this goal accomplished? Create a plan and stick with it. It’s going to take a heck of a lot of work to achieve your dreams, but nothing worthwhile in life comes without effort. Like I once heard, “The harder the job, the bigger the reward.” It’s time to go big or go home!
